A mall that is home to more than 1,200 outlets and stores as well as 160 food and beverage outlets. The Dubai Mall is the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination. When creating the mall, more steel was used to build the structure than was used to create the Eiffel Tower. That just blows my mind. This mall has everything from fashion avenue carrying all the top designer names and brands to every day stores you would find back home. Being a top entertainment destination, the Dubai Mall is home to an ice rink, theme park, aquarium, and even to the famous Dubai fountain located right outside the mall next to the Burj Khalifa. This fountain shoots water up to 500 feet in the air displaying different colored light projections and is in sync with classical, Arabic, and world music. The Dubai fountain was designed by the same creators of the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas. Pictures of the fountain to come in my next post about New Years Eve!
Since going to the mall that first day I have maybe seen a fourth of what is actually there, that is how big this mall is. You think walking into the two-story Forever 21 in the Tacoma Mall is a sensory overload. Just wait until you step foot into the Dubai Mall. Here’s just a taste of what I experienced that day.
